This is a special occasion to celebrate being brother and sister. The sister ties a bracelet to the brothers wrist to show that he shall take care of her.

The main beliefs are; Reincarnation- After you die you move into a new form which depends on your karma. Karma- The laws of cause and effect. Cast System- When you get placed into a class. (1st class.2nd class.3rd class.....) Varnas- 4 class cast system. Dharma- The path of righteousness and living one's life to the codes of conduct as described by the hindu scriptures. Vedas- There are four, veda means knowledge or wisdom. They contain guides to live a hindu life. Om- Symbol of the absolute. Aum-(pronounced the same as om)- The sound heard in deepest meditation. Deities- Good luck or good luck charms. Samsara- The life cycle of birth, life, death, rebirth. Moksha- Freedom of samsara. Cows- are holy!!!
